I build high-tech software + systems for low-tech companies.

In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, I started a home cleaning business with my wife out of our garage. She cleaned people’s houses, and I did everything else, including mixing cleaning solutions at our kitchen sink. Over the course of 5 years, we scaled to 25 W2 employees, 300 recurring customers, and $1m annual revenue, with me still doing everything that wasn’t cleaning — branding, website, ads, sales, estimating, scheduling, customer support, billing, payroll, recruiting, training, etc. — and I managed it all on a homegrown tech stack that I stitched together over 5 years of trial, error, and lots of tinkering (all before AI could help).

After selling the cleaning co, I transitioned into consulting at an agency. Now I could take the system design principles I had built for my little company and apply them at big Fortune 500 companies. You’d be surprised how similar a 25-person company and 25,000-person company look at the systems level (just a lot more rows).

In 2025, I used Claude Code for the first time and my world changed in an instant. Suddenly I could build anything from scratch. I was no longer limited to cobbling together off-the-shelf tools. And I could build systems with agents in them — automated processes that could think dynamically and solve more than just the 1 or 2 problems they were originally designed for.

As I got deeper into AI, I had an epiphany — this high-tech AI stuff can actually have the biggest impact at low-tech companies — places where there isn’t an IT guy and everything still happens in spreadsheets, email, or paper (shudders). AI coding tools let us build custom systems fast (and cheap), and automate things that used to require somebody logging in and clicking around on a screen that they didn’t want to learn. Now, we can basically flip a switch and incredibly smart systems just start running in the background. Low-tech companies can stay focused on the real work (the stuff that AI won’t be able to replace), while smart tech keeps the whole operation humming behind the scenes.

There are a lot of snake oil salesmen peddling “AI operating systems” to companies. They have no idea how the technology works and absolutely no idea how to apply it inside a real-world business. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. I aim to be the opposite. I know the technology, but more importantly, I’m going to learn everything about how your business operates — the good, the bad, and the ugly. Then we’ll work together to sketch out bite-sized improvements that make work smoother for everybody, without anyone having to learn a new app or become an AI expert. We’ll make sure your work tech just works.
